The client

Stackly helps small agencies keep track of client assets: logins, licences, domains and renewals. Its founder, Sara, had run an agency herself and knew the problem well, but had never built software.

The challenge

Sara had a clear idea, a fixed budget and an investor demo booked in ten weeks. She needed a real product that teams could sign up to and pay for, not a clickable prototype, and she needed to understand every trade-off along the way.

What we built

Stackly team dashboard with projects and recent activity

Built for teams from day one

Every account is a team, with invites, roles and a shared dashboard. Data is separated per team at the database level, so growth to hundreds of customers needed no rework.

  • A one-week design sprint that cut the feature list to what the demo and first customers actually needed.
  • Sign-up, team invites and roles, with magic-link login.
  • Stripe subscriptions with a free trial, upgrades and invoices handled automatically.
  • An admin dashboard for Sara to see sign-ups, usage and revenue at a glance.

Technology choices

Next.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL gave us one codebase for the product and the marketing site, hosted on Vercel with previews for every change. We wrote a short decision log in plain English, so Sara could explain every choice to investors.

The results

Stackly launched in nine weeks and had 120 paying teams by month three. Because the foundations were right, there was no rework after launch; every sprint since has gone on new features.

In their words.

What the client said once the project was live.

“Every decision was explained in plain English. As a non-technical founder, that mattered most.”
